NAH, don't you remember signing that SAAC version of Scientology's "Billion Year Contract" that Kopec slipped in front of you?

Also maybe talk to folks like McCluskey and Lynn Park to see if they have anyone in mind that might work as an apprentice....

It would seem to me the creation of a Foundation is in order...without that, I suspect it might fall into less commercial minded hands. (Thanks for all you have done for the hobby by the way) But get some private funds coming in now to give him time to select the next caretaker...just thinking out loud. And before one of you asks me to start the Foundation...how can you be sure I am not going to do this just to get my Backdraft Cobra into the Registry? But seriously, this is a very important aspect of the hobby, and those that have the real deal Cobras are generally well heeled...to protect their investment, a Foundation might be a small price to pay indeed.

I'd try to find a long time owner (and fanatic) of a 1960's era Cobra, like Ned, in the Registry, and approach them with being The Curator. Someone in their 30's, 40's or 50's.

I guess I'm curious if this is a full-time job for Ned or is there another source of income for him? It would appear to be pretty much full time..

Ned has other income.
SAAC does not pay their registrars, amybe a free meal at a SAAC event, but that is about it. Ned does this for the sheer passion..........

So we need an unpaid intern to audition for an unpaid position!
Send applications to KramerCo.

How about Peter's kid at Legendary in Canada? He's young and Dad can afford to pay him. Seems to have some passion and has been learning.
Hey, I'm just trying!!

Exactly my point. Whatever has worked for Ned in the past, well, worked for Ned and the hobby is well ahead for it. But I suspect Ned has been at this so long there was another source of income involved, not just this. Which means hoping someone else will pick up the torch and dedicate this sort of time to it while still holding a job and family...tall order. A Foundation to offer a stipend to keep the wolves from the door...to me that seems like the right answer. Just thinking out loud...

There needs to be a committee formed to look into this. But first, we need a committee to appoint the members of the committee. Obviously, we'll need an oversight committee to review the committee's actions.

I nominate Evan. We all know he knows everything and would be impartial!
Sorry, couldn't resist.

...well, not so much for me, as this has never been a paid position, but maybe for someone new. It takes up time and it offers only the satisfaction of doing one's best to keep the facts straight. That's been enough for me but it may not be for a young pup.

And I figure you get Peter in the deal who I think would step on his kid's neck if he missed something.
