I guess value-wise, it doesn't really matter anyway, since I doubt I will ever sell it. But where can one purchase the correct intake and carb setup for the 427 SO with the 4 x 2? I like the look of the individual air cleaners too, rather than the long oval ones that go around both carbs.

Like you, I like the look of the 2x4 way better too. I own the white 427 S/C that Troy posted pics of up above. I have seen at least a couple of *complete* OEM (Galaxie) 2x4 intake set-ups on ebay over the past year. IIRC, they were in the $2500 range but when I say complete, I mean complete. Single oval air cleaner, fuel log (like Troy has on his red car), carbs, linkage, the works.
FWIW, the first thing I did was throw out both sets of air cleaners that came on the car. The set on the car was a larger diameter filter, cut and spliced to fit inside of the air cleaner bases. The other set was a green foam filter and it created so much coughing, spitting and sputtering when I tried them, it made total sense that Troy told me to use them for show. I bought a pair of K&N filters direct from K&N for just under 100 bucks. Not only do they perform better but they look better too. Just input the OD and height (do NOT include the ID) and K&N shows three options. I think mine were OEM Fiero filters.
Troy: I got your email but just been busy with a recent health issue (dianosed with Prostate Cancer) to spend much time on it. I'll get back to you on it as soon as I can.

Troy: Look at the pic of DanEC's drivers side carb's to see what we're talking about. He has the more desirable (to me, because they look more OE) sec. caps on his where mine has the ports but with the black "quick change" tops that allows you to change sec. springs without pulling the carbs about half way apart (available from Jegs, Summit, etc.).

OK - I missed it didn't have power to the rear choke so it operates like mine. Good eye.

Hey guys - Yes, I'm familiar with those two things that Dan and Phil bring up. One of those chokes is simply not hooked up. As for cold starts, the car's choke operation works perfectly! That's how the car came to me completed, so it's one variable at a time. The progressive linkage works perfectly and the springs for the secondaries work perfectly, too. With a little tuning from a friend, my setup is exactly the way I think it should be performance wise. I do prefer the look of Dan's setup. Phil, we had the quick change plastic thingies that work well, but don't look as authentic (same for the fuel log). That's what I love about these cars, no two are the same. Super sucky news about your health issues, Phil. I'm so sorry!
Below is a little 427 music from the red car through ALL the RPMs (I think we limited it to 5K, though). A very gingerly upshift followed by a slightly sporty 1-2, and then the 3rd sound is a pass-by out of the car going around 5K RPM.

Gas at pump and carb problems if car not driven much concerned me. Having engine out of Bennett car rebuilt now and going to put fuel injection on as I had T.W.M. set up laying around anyway. Have same setup on csx car and has been problem free. Also makes 660 hp on dyno and 550 at the wheels. Easy start cold and good idle, looks okay to. FWIW

IMO, the simplicity and beautiful look of the single carb inside of the turkey pan is best way to go. But I can understand scratching an itch.

I understand the single carb and turkey pan also, when you lift hood on 427 cobra that's what you expect to see. Bennett car has space frame and push rod suspension so the illusion is lost, free's me up to do whatever I want lol.

I haven't officially announced that my car is for sale yet. However, I did create a page in advance. I will be officially listing it in the spring. I still have to replace the ring gear on the flywheel this winter as there is a chipped tooth. I'm nearly $2K into "sorting" this car for the next owner. Of course, I was told it was in perfect condition when I bought it.

The URL was shown in the two photo's you posted otherwise I would have never provided the homepage URL. I figured since you posted it publicly, and anyone with any semblance of Internet knowledge could find it, it was fair game.
Sorry if I gave away any of your secrets.
But you DO make really nice websites for your cars. You ever read the book "Sell The Sizzle, Not The Steak"?

Phil, no worries. I don't have any secrets as I'm an up front guy. This is getting way off topic, but I'm interested in your thoughts on sizzle vs steak. Fee free to email me to continue this dialogue or we can always talk on the phone, too.
Troy
