I do like the idea of him taking it to auction either in Monterey or Amelia. With the right promotion ahead of time and the right crowd full of cash, good liquor and wine, no telling what could happen!

I guess you guys forgot about the blue car. Asking $149,999 and its still there ?? WHY is that ????? Go Evan !!!!!! He is getting more free advertising here!!! As others have said who should care besides the buyer and seller.
Al G likes this.

I saw someone take a poke at him on the "other site" about those rivets. Hell, I don't know if mine are wrong or right and don't really care! Not something that keeps me up at night.

I'm just spitballin' here, but when you get to the $250,000 level for a CSX4000, and your CSX4000 is purported to be "authentic" as they come, some potential buyers may be peculiar enough to be particular about hood rivet patterns. Crazy as that sounds.

for what it's worth. If I instantly come into a large sum of money I will buy Evan's car for his asking price. There's not a finer example of a csx4000 car in existence

I'd be proud to own it.....and drive the hell out of it.

* I would however have no disillusion of what the car actually is or isn't

That comment inspired an intriguing question. If any of you found yourself $20 million richer (after taxes), would you buy Evan's car for his asking price? I mean, given all the things you might spend on including toys of all kinds, who besides JoeT would spend some of it to own Evan's late model Shelby Cobra?

My answer is no. I'm more into performance and uniqueness than name brand, so if I had lots of money to waste, I'd look for something different.

If I had $20 Million (before or after tax), then I'd buy NYG a Cobra, so MAYBE, his future posts here would be relevant and informative.

I'd also help Patrick buy some new refrigerator insulation for his roll bars.

It's all about charity.

thanks, Sir!
I'd be happy with a Kirkham Cobra hot rod. no need for $1.5mil nostalgia. I wasn't born in the 60s

Donate the $$ to charity, like St Judes Children Cancer Research, NYC.

I would settle for a Triple Quesalupa. And if it makes you feel better, I'll sub in the low fat sour cream.

Hell yes. I'd own an original with a lot less than 20MM after taxes.
And still have a Cobra Hot Rod.

Joe's Garage - 20MM after taxes, you buy a Kirkham, then a Vette for the little lady, and you'd have 20k left over?

It's called fuzzy math

In front of the $249K "auto upgrades", probably a yacht, a plane to fly to the yacht, a summer home on a lake, and a cigarette speed boat to get me to my favorite fishing spot

No here as well, being "stupid rich" doesn't mean you have to be literally stupid and rich I'd buy Dave's blue Kirkham, get the wife a 2016 Z06 convertible, then take the extra $20K to renovate the garage

Aaaaaaaaand, with all that leftover dough I'd buy RodKnock that SOHC he always wanted.
With the amount of miles he drives, it would be reliable forever.

Thanks, yep, that's my dream engine, but make sure Robert Pond builds it. I'd have the Kirkham's drop it in for me. Only the best, baby!

Speaking of charity...

I would buy it for its asking price, just so Evan could say "I told you all so" (seemingly he needs it), and then all CSX boys and girls can rejoice with glee.

Good luck to 'em

I'd give Evan $160,000 for it right now, just so I can say "I told you so."

Then I'd put the Cammer in it that Rodneym bought for me, strip the black paint off and polish the aluminum body. Now we're talking.
