My thoughts are all-known on this topic, but I don't think the buyers know that Shelby still sells replicas and Kirkham is busy building them. Why would anyone pay $325,000-$495,000 for a really nice replica and they're still making them.

Additionally, you can buy one of those "competition-series" Shelbys with all the NOS parts for $495,000 (including the $50,000 charitable donation to Shelby's charity), which is probably where that seller derived his/her asking price.
