CSX2135: when bought from insur. company, anybody know price?
I saw this informative story about CSX2135 stolen in the '80s .A buyer bought it unknowingly as a stolen carbut then found out it was stolen and managed to buy it from the insurance company.
Here's the story: https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail/SC0...dster/4-Speed/
Does anybody remember what he paid? I can't remember what small block Cobras were back then, maybe $60K? I wonder how diligently the insurance company researched the going price of Cobras back then or were they just glad to recover what they had paid out to the owner who it was stolen from

See "Nedsel" here on this site. That's Ned Scudder from SAAC. I will check the registry as well.

Wally, the price paid in '89 was not made public, but it was in the neighborhood of typical Cobra values at the time. And no, it was not the price paid just last year at the Mecum auction in Monterey.

He never gets under my skin, but he seems to have a short memory, as 75% of the questions he has posted over the last year, he had posted here in the distant past. Perhaps he did not like the fact based answers he got in the first place.
Personally, I believe he has a registry, and that is where he "once read", or "remembers reading", "once heard", or "was talking with someone in the past about", yet he does not want to use it as a piece of listed reference material in whatever article or publication he may be working on.
