Exhaust
I realize this subject has been beat to death, but at least I'm not asking a question.
I switched to Classic Chambered exhaust in my Contemporary, and I'm really impressed with the difference. I also switched from a CompCams 284H to a CompCams 282S.
The original mufflers had ridiculous restrictions. There are pics out there in the Internet. They were squeezed to under 2" with all that crap in the pipe.
I installed the Classic Chambered mufflers as recommended, 3" with baffles towards the front. They are not much louder than before, but it feels like I added 100HP.
This is not an ad for CC. I am very happy with their mufflers. They were great to deal with, and the mufflers are exactly what I wanted. Now it sounds like an ad again. At any rate, I'm not pumping up CC. I'm making a comment about the difference it made to put decent mufflers on the car. I thought I had a weak 428, and now I'm wondering why anyone would want more HP in such a light car. At about 1/2 throttle, it wants to waste the tires. It was fast before. Now it is scary fast.
