Then he is using a little poetic license in his advertising. But - makes those MK II Slabsides an even a better deal in my estimation.

What license? I will sell this for well less than $97,500! And this has date coded 289, a five speed and the Salisbury diff option. Ceramic coated headers and exhaust, original type coolant header tank and lots of small details.
Custom color, Jaguar Carmen red and tan leather with correct black dash! L/R vents, top, curtains, tonneau, heater/defroster, grab handle and mirrors still in the box (so we can mount where they WORK for the buyer) as well as whitewalls! Front and rear bumper hoops in the box can be installed.
And wait, there's more!

Only if you call within the next twenty minutes, and we will double your order! Just pay twice as much!

Well you know the factory puts that Tru-Coat on and I can't do anything about it.....
Well, deduct about $40.00 for the whitewalls (Geez, I NEVER thought I would be selling cars with WHITEWALLS again...but seems about 50% of the 289s got shoved out of Shelby with his Goodyear whitewalls!) And the wheels are close to a wash price wise. Lets call it even.

Bill, can you also ask him about the cost to change to black carpets and seats?

Did folks back in the 60s look at the slabside as "a Miata?" corvette stingrays and Jag E Type 1 had longer hoods and aggressive looks. Did American buyers like the Slabside shape?
Looks like a chick car, then and now

Well, NYG, you're not going to make many more friends here with a comment like that.
But to your point, the slabside is a bit too British for my taste. There seems to be a bit of a backlash recently with the 427 shape but to me, that voluptuous/muscular shape is the "be all, end all" with sports cars. I don't tire from it nor fault it in any way.

I was thinking "Tan", maybe even ordering one in "Laguna Blue" with proper knock off wheels

I really like Laguna Blue & Tan. The red/tan combo, not so much.
Rick's website shows a silver/black 289 slab coming to shore soon and the 1 pic of that car looked very nice.

My car is gonna be Princess Blue with black leather!
The Hailbrand Kidney Bean wheels are six pin drive and you still have the splines so you can swap out the pins for bolts and run the wires. Best of both worlds.................
