Default West Coast Cobra: Looking for convertible top

I want to put a convertible top on my West Coast Cobra. Does anybody have any info on where I can get a top for the car? West Coast Cobra is out of business. Wondering if my car will accept the same top that fits Superformance or Factory Five cars, or if I'm going to have to a top custom made. I don't know anybody that has a car with a convertible top so I'm unable to check for myself.

I saw their ad on the Cobra Country site. Looked like a pretty nice top. If they will design a top for the WC car, I'm in. A $1500.00 price tag is pretty reasonable. If it fits, the shipping cost wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. Please keep me posted.

West Coast Cobra is not really out of business the former owner passed the company to another individual named Painter and according to some messages I have seen from him, he can still build the car. Unfortunately the previous owner did nothing for the brand despite being a very good design. Let's hope that this new individual can bring the name of the car back to a better place, for this will have an impact on the price of our cars.

The top looks real nice. Is this your version or someone else? Does the rear glass work well?

Yep it is my own design. Full pix and description here

New design soft top

It's still a primitive hood on sticks, but I've been told a lot better looking than the ugly type that encompasses the roll hoop. The idea is that it's weatherproof in winter/rain, but the rear screen, when removed, allows air flow in summer.
In reality with the sidescreens and rear screen in, you can do 80mph, although the hood balloons and lifts 2" at that speed. Also wind roar is loud, but that's the car.
With sidescreens and rear screen out, you can do 100 mph with no lift and almost no side flap. The rear screen offers unparalleled rearward vision and it fits nicely in the boot/trunk.
I like the screen up as protection from summer sun and feels very cool driving around town like that. I'm happy that this is the best design and is easy for anybody else and their trimmer to replicate.
PS The rear screen is 4mm stabilised acrylic. I bent the two curves over an old oil drum, but you need to make a cardboard template to cut to and it has to be cut accurately which isn't easy.

I am also considering a soft top for my West Coast Cobra.

Please keep me informed if/when they may be available.

Thanks,

BAsque1. Do you, or does anyone have any more info on Painter who has taken over West Coast?

Thanks,

Ray
