Default FFR on BaT - "built under license by Shelby American"

FFR for sale on Bring a Trailer: 1965 Shelby Cobra Replica | Bring a Trailer. Seller claims "This 1965 Shelby Cobra Replica is a Factory Five built under license by Shelby American Inc. in Los Angeles for a customer in 1997. This is not a Shelby Continuation car, but is instead an officially licensed replica based on the Factory Five kit. "

Any possibility this is true? I'm thinking no.

That's as much "an officially licensed replica" as I am. Let's see the documents that support this assertion.

I didn't know Evan owned a FFR.

It's got a Shelby plaque, so it must be a Shelby. And with Shelby American firing Vice Presidents left and right, in no time, this Shelby authorized Cobra will be worth millions I say.

Can the seller at least detail the car before sale? Sheesh.

It does add more value than a Plaque "Built by Norbert" does.
And he did take it to a trophy shop for engraving thus the attention to detail....
Cobra® - Shelby American Vin Plate

The "As pulled" patina in the engine bay is hard to look at I must say.

But the transmission temp guage does not work!

Why do people do this? It will cost what, $50.00 to fix? But rather than repair we will tell potential customers that the car has a fault...a fault that while it may be minor, tells buyers that the seller did not care enough about his car to resolve?

Yes, tell them there is chip in the paint and a small scuff on the leather, but announcing a nut and bolt repair needed just says " I don't care that this is busted and you shouldn't either...just pay me"
