Default FFR Frame Modified By Bruce For IRS

My frame has been modified by Bruce to use the 8.8 IRS pumpkin. But the pumpkin will not fit into the cradle. The pinion flange hits the upper control arm crossmember he added. I've tried for an hour to no avail. Has anyone done one of these with success? I'm at a total loss and extremely frustrated

Hey Bill, I found this on the FFCars site. I hope this can shed some light on the matter. I know that a lot of guys over there have had trouble installing the center section Notice that it has to be twisted and moved forward as lifting with the jack. An extra pair of hands would be a great help. Good luck, and remember patience.

Thanks John. Going to wait for my stepson to return from Atlanta this weekend and ask him to help. Maybe even a third set of hands

Yep, First time takes about three hours and a couple of busted knuckles. Second time about five minutes.

We had a lot of trouble with that on my brothers FFR Daytona. There was just one way it fit and it was a pain to find that way but we did finally get it. We did it with the body, panels and suspension in place too.

That looks like the Ford Racing aluminum IRS housing that comes with the big girdle cover. I have the same thing and it wouldn't fit until I removed the diff cover. Even then it was tight.
