Luke,
You can make it work. I had L4-L5-S1 fused years ago and there are some cars I can't drive far at all without pain.
The Cobra is a bit unique in that the driving position is twisted because of the trans tunnel so your lower half goes one way and the upper half goes the other.
The fact that you can drive the other cars without pain means it is just a matter of proper seating position and support in the seat. Some simple and not so simple mods can improve the position. Modify the mounts on the seat and/or steering wheel so they more inline and then find a seat with proper support for you. In my Daytona Coupe I cut some foam supports and added them to a Kirkey seat and could drive it all day without more than a few minutes of discomfort when I got out. Then add the power steering for your shoulder.
I could drive my Cobra or Daytona longer and with less discomfort than I can my wifes current Honda just because the seat doesn't fit me properly.
