Default Introduction, and any members near Madison Wisconsin?

Hello all and greetings from Mount Horeb WI. I have been lurking about here for a few years and recently decided to get serious about a build and thought it would be a good idea to finally register here.

I have been primarily considering Hurricane (visited their facility,) FFR, ERA (still remember wanting to build one of their kits way back in the eighties,) and Unique.

I have some free time over the next week and again in early November. While I was thinking seriously about visiting ERA and FFR, I began to wonder if their might be some owners or builders I could meet closer to my area first. I would be up for a road trip of up to a couple of hours if anyone would be willing to show my their finished car or current project.

I have been thinking a lot about the FFR MKIV donor kit as a base to start from lately, as it would allow me to get started a bit earlier than the others.

Anyone who might be interested in letting my see their ride and pick their brain a bit please PM me here or email me direct at chaosjr07@yahoo.com

Thanks!

I have an ERA 427 street roadster in Minneapolis. I have a friend 10 minutes from me who also has an ERA. I know of a pretty sweet one (ERA) in Green Bay as well. If you want me to put you in touch with the owner I can. Have you considered looking for a pre-owned car?

Thanks for the response! I don't know if I will make it to the Twin Cities area this week, however in early November it is a possibility. I might be able to get to Green Bay this week, if the owner is willing to let me have a look.

I have considered pre-owned, and I realize my dollar would go farther if I went that route. But a big part of it for me is the actual build, despite the fact that it will take me a couple of years to complete.

send me a PM via this forum with your contact information and I'll pass it on to the owner of ERA 594 in Green Bay. I will leave it up to him to reach out to you if he chooses. He and his wife are pretty darn cool, so I wouldn't be surprised if he gives you a call and a ride.

Thanks for both of the replies. I have been in touch with the owner of the green ERA, super nice guy! I hope to see it either this fall or in the spring. Lew, thanks so much for the offer. I was out of town this weekend and was unable to make the trip. Hopefully we can meet up in the spring when you get it back out.

Thanks again!
