Great topic: "The Boss" learned to drive a manual years ago as a new driver. Before the kids, she drove a '76 4 speed Corvette. She's a little skeptic to drive the new Z06, she doesn't want to be the first to put a mark on it, but she knows how to handle it. The Cobra is another story, she hates it. It's hot, stinky, hard on the back, crude and rude......That's why I love it !!!

My wife handles a manual transmission well but has no interest in driving the Cobra. She loves to ride in it, though, and is a frequent passenger. She told me she understands that the noise, the power and the smells are all "guy things" and they don't seem to bother her.

Jamie loves driving it. She drives all the time. She is pretty good about texting me at work to let me know she's "taking it for a spin". Girl can drive too. She keeps up just fine on club runs.

Frisky? Are we still talking about driving, or have we digressed?

Yes, she drives the cobra and yes, she has a blast.
She also wrenches on it and helps maintain it.

My wife likes the Cobra, but as a passenger - she is not interested in driving it. Between no experience with manual transmissions and a higher level of driving caution due to impaired vision in one eye she's quite satisfied being a passenger and people-watching all the people watching us!

Yes, she has driven the Cobra, but she prefers her daily driver (Boss 302) and if we are driving on the weekend, she normally drives her '47 Chevy Hot Rod pickup, while I drive the Cobra!!

My wife loves cars and enjoys driving the cobra whenever possible. She is very good with a manual and handles the car great. Sometimes when I am out with her she will just laugh for no reason and I ask what...? She responds, I love this thing! ...And that's why I always tell her she is a unicorn!

I'm with you. My wife doesn't hate my Cobra, however she hasn't taken any interest in it and didn't even congratulate me and/or compliment the car when I finished building it. That did (and still does) hurt a lot. She hasn't ridden in it and I am not sure she ever will. She believes that it was a big waste of money and that I "..didn't need to build it". If not at 46, when?
As I own a bodyshop and use the Cobra to promote my business (and I have gotten jobs because people have seen the quality of my work), this is still not good enough for her. I believe she will not be happy until I can report to her that I have brought in as much work from the Cobra as what it cost to build.
I love my wife and she has given me 3 beautiful children, but when it comes to cars, she and I are oil and water. My 9 year old son loves the Cobra and rides in it with me every chance he gets, so that helps balance things out somewhat.
On the bright side, I do not have to ever worry about her crashing it. She can't drive a stick either!

My wife does not like being a passenger but enjoys driving it. I can understand that. I feel the same way.

My wife not only drove CSX 3121 regularly, her daily driver for a couple of years was a "66 GT350 with a 4.33 Detroit Locker rear. Thank heavens for Southern women!
