This is the middle of the 4th season on the road and I have just under 12,000 miles. As for unwanted attention, etc., I drive mostly on back roads, so not bothered much. There are several drives that I like that are about 150 miles or so round trip and never get old. In the heat of the summer, my wife and I get up early, go for breakfast and then a drive to get back before the heat sets in. Or we go for a night drive on well-lit roads rather than the back roads. Even the drive to Home Depot is scenic, so I have made many trips there and park out away from other cars - have never had a problem. Lots of ways to get a drive in if you really enjoy driving the car.

I am on my 3rd cobra replica now and I still get nervous before every drive. Weather allowing, I usually go early Saturday or Sunday morning for a couple of hours further up north, around Bear mountain and 7 lakes drive.
My latest Cobra has a heater, so I am planning to drive it deep into winter season, cold air= more power

It never gets old

Drove mine to the hardware store last Sunday...the long way

Filled up the passenger seat with fans, wasp traps, and gutter guards.

I bought my car in January of a very wet year here. I've still put almost 2k miles on it since I bought it.

Well I got mine out and drove it over to the dam as it had been setting to long. It was miserable as the temperature was 116 and there is a lot of smoke in the air from the fires that are burning all over. But that never stopped me from enjoying the drive. I am hoping that by next month this heat and the fires will be gone.

I drive mine just about once a week. Lately it has been a little difficult with all of the summer rain we always get here in Florida. Usually take it out on Sunday mornings with my 6 year old son and cruise around town before the Florida sun and humidity get too unbearable.

Built ours 93/94 the first 15 yrs drove it a lot after that as much as we could. It is a little harder climbing in and out of it these days on hot days it sits in the shop Spring and Fall are the best times no vacationers, perfect temps and low humidity. We leave it uncovered in the shop because it is too enjoyable looking at it and every once in a while we like a good asphyxiation listening to it run.

About 3 1/2 years with my FFR Mk4, hit 15000 miles this year. We do 2 or 3 trips a year, 1500 - 1800 miles per trip. Sadly here in south Florida the heat and metro traffic keep it in the garage a lot.

South Florida sounds a lot like south Texas... it's just too hot to enjoy a drive in the summer. I'm definitely a Fall, Winter (Yes... even the dead of winter is not too bad in S. Texas) & Spring kind of driver. A sweat top with a zip-up hoodie is perfect when I want to cruise. Summer time is usually the time for repairs/upgrades... for example... I'm in the process of replacing a cracked windshield. It WILL be ready for Fall.

I own a C3 Corvette w/ AC & a high efficiency radiator for summer cruising... and even it can't keep up w/ the S. Texas summer heat in the middle of the day. The performance isn't the same w/ the C3... but comfort while cruising takes precedence. Summer time cruises in the C3 are usually done by 12:00 Noon. In the Cobra... they'd be over even sooner. Cruising a Cobra in S. Texas during the summer is brutally hot.

21k miles in 4 years. I liked building it, but driving it is even more fun! Did my first auto-x this year and will be repeating that as often as possible.
Our club is planning 100+ mile cruise this weekend and leaving for Deadwood, SD in 2 weeks with the wife & club! Can't wait.

If it's sitting in the garage or sitting at car shows, you're missing out on the fun part of owning a streetable RACE car!

I try to drive my Cobra at lease once a week. If there is a chance of rain, I will usually just leave it in the garage. One of the nice parts about living in Northern California, is that rain does not come often.

My wife and I are also getting used to taking trips in the Cobra. Someone thought it would be a good idea for the 4-H camp to be located in Napa. Tuesday was parent day, so we drove the Cobra up to camp. Ok, we had to spend the night in St. Helena (oh the sacrifices we made for our kids) to get to the camp in the morning. The Cobra did great on the 2+ mile dirt road to the camp. We were the only parents who showed up in a car. It was funny to see a much of minivans and SUVs and one red Cobra.

I drive mine at least every month, but try to every week. I don't drive in the rain (at least on purpose) or when its icy (ditto). No top! When its hot, I do like the others and try to drive early or late. 354 miles for a Hamburger is my longest regular "local" trip. (Bryant, AR to Oark General Store and back.) I drive mine to cruises, shows and places that we like to stay over night, even though I can't lock it up securely. I have a heater for the cold mornings and have had to scrape ice off the wind-shield a number of times during the North Arkansas Super Cruise before heading out in below freezing temperatures. In the extreme heat, I have a TechKewl Cooling vest that allows me to drive in the Arkansas summers in comfort. My wife loves to go with me on the shorter trips and I haven't found anyone that will go on my Hamburger trip, yet!
If you don't enjoy driving it, may as well have a pretty picture hanging on the wall!
Not for everyone, but definitely for me!

I've been on the road since 2008 and have 9300 miles. 3500 were put on the first year.

The "problem" I have is time. 2 teen daughters with me being their (and often their friends too) personal uber driver.

As often as possible. Taking the wife out to dinner tonight in it as a matter of fact. It's just a car......an awesome beast of a car........so drive it, often!
