Any ERA Cobras in SoCal?
I'm considering a Cobra upgrade and would like to find a ERA Cobra in the SoCal area that I can get a close look at and ride in before I get too deep into this process.
If that's you or you know of somebody, please reach out to me. I will respect your time. Thanks!

I have an ERA 289 and am in Sherman Oaks near Los Angeles. If you're interested in looking at a 289, let me know.

Thank you. I may take you up on that if I struggle to locate a 427 chassis. I'm primarily interested in confirming ride/handling quality as well as seating position. Both of these characteristics may be similar enough between the 289 and 427 chassis to confirm my direction.

ride/handling quality = YES
seating position = NO
The foot boxes are different sizes and the drop dash can make all the difference as well when it comes to fitment for the driver. ERA can also customize pedal and steering wheel location (to an extent) for a custom fit. Same follows for the amount of padding in the seat.

Since I'm shopping the used market, a custom fit won't be in the cards. However, I'm 6' and 185lbs so my needs are not extreme.
Are you saying that the 289 car will have a cockpit that is the same or tighter than the 427? Or vice versa?

The 289 foot-boxes are a little wider (~1") around the pedals. If you have long legs, the drop (in the center) dash takes away a little room from your right thigh. Not a factor in the 427.

And the seating position is more customizable than you might think. The pedals can be moved back (farther away from you) with the aid of a larger clutch master cylinder (helpful if you have long legs). The pedals can be spread (helpful if you have fat feet). The steering column can be shimmed up or down to give you more knee room, the seat dropped down and back, and tilted -- all to give you more room. Unless you are 6' 5" or taller, or upwards of, ehrrrr, maybe 260 lbs., then you're going to fit. Unless you buy a used car from a guy that had a really different shape than yours, then you'll have to do some fixin'.

Era 289
I have an ERA 289...I am not too far way from Santa Ana out in the PV area.
Should be around this Saturday after 12, let me know if that would work.
Pretty sure there are more than a few ERA's in the SOCAL vicinity.
Have a friend in Burbank with a ERA 427.
Send me a PM.

Pete,
PM did not work. This Saturday may actually work out well. See if you can PM me so we can take this offline.
Thank you!
