Here's another ad to make you cry....COB6042 for sale...
OK, it's 1970, but it has a rebuilt ex-Willie Green GT40 engine ....and it was for sale at GBP1595!!
Cheers

Yes, a favorite of mine too (note my green FIA avatar )
Interestingly, it went Stateside in the '80s and was converted to LHD. What vintage is that picture?
Cheers,
Glen

Peter,
I looked in my Register, and 6042 came back to England in around 1989 and was subsequently converted back to RHD (as in your picture).
It has had an interesting life.
Cheers,
Glen

my pic above is 2007, between 2007 and 2011 it had a crash and came back with a new style: lower windscreen, LEC Racing team Colors and COB289A Registration, here are some additional Informations:

What a beautiful car! Since my older Unique 427 is narrow-hipped, right hand drive, small block powered and has a forward-braced roll bar, I suppose I should consider it more of an AC COB replica and ditch the Shelby style badges when its time for its rebuild and repaint.

I keep coming back to this thread to stare at that photo. That car is just "right" in so many ways. Love it, love it, love it.

To the OP. Yeah that is a cheap price but you know, a pound won't buy what it used to too!
