I realize you're in a totally different jurisdiction, but the in-trunk filler would never be approved here (Saskatchewan, Canada) for street use.

Quick thought: Make sure you're using tubing approved for gasoline when connecting it to an external filler - unlike the radiator hose that I found in mine when I bought it.
