Default Aerovault Trailer

Anybody out there with an Aerovault trailer? What do you think of it? I’m thinking of getting one and would like to hear some opinions.

Thanks!

Chris,

A friend has one, likes it a lot. His is an original design and the doorway is a bit low. The newer design has raised the entry door height a few inches and it sounds like that helps to be more useable with a wider variety of cars.

What is the aproximate cost? Love the design and love the idea of Brock designing it.

The web site list the base price for the Aerovault II as $26k. Pricey, but very nice.

Hi Chris,

Check out trailex trailers. We have owned their products for years and they have great customer service. They have both open and enclosed trailers.

Thanks Rock!

I've searched for one used with no luck. 26K meets my resistance point.

I have a friend with an Aerovault he bought used at a fire-sale price. The construction is top notch and very sturdy. Tows well. The downsides are the rear ramp while aluminum, is VERY heavy and the assist springs don't help enough. If you are not a "He Man" you will need help raising and lowering the ramp. The low height is a pro for towing, a con for getting in/out (I have banged the noggin several times helping load/unload) A GT40 must be pushed or winched as you aren't getting out of the car once in the trailer.

Thanks for all the helpful comments. I have looked for a used Aerovault but they are not out there. I did not know about the heavy lift gate, that is something I will check out.

The trailer is designed for the car to be winched in and out, so I don't see the lack of a side door as a minus. The car can be tied down without getting into the trailer.

I am going to Henderson where they make the trailers to look at them. I'll let you know how it comes out.

The lack of a side door is a killer for me. As an autocrosser I need room for a second set of wheels and tires and tools.

I just bought a new 20 inside by 8.5' outside trailer with 6' inside for $4,950 from American Trailer pros in Fitzgerald GA. I went down and picked it up. The trailer was exactly as advertised and on time. It has an all steel frame, aluminum skin, plywood floors and walls and a travel trailer door latch on the side door so I can sleep in it in a pinch without worrying about being locked in by a prankster.

The woodford looks very nice, well thought out. Do they deliver to Indiana from Britian?

Not a fan of individual ramps, especially without a spotter to guide you. I purchased a Jimglo a couple of years ago. All aluminum, full ramp and side door exit, electric winch and storage cabinets. Lots of added features not found on most trailers.

I checked out the aaerovault trailer today. It is a tank. Peter Brock showed me every detail personally.

I pulled the trigger. You only live once!

Very cool trailer! I just bought an all aluminum Mission which I like but I might of considered a Trailex if I knew about them as I need that big side door for my GT40. Not sure I could handle the ramps however as it is hard to see out of a GT40 to start with.
