Default Always something to do

Decided to go out for a quick drive this morning. Noticed a strange sound coming from the rear end of the car. Realized I had left the parking brake engaged. Removed the rear bulkhead panel to inspect the parking brake to see if I had done any damage, and found out that one of my rear sway bar mounts is completely missing. The rubber bushing is still present around the sway bar though. A quick call to Peter at ERA, and the new parts are on the way. Time to check the rest of my suspension pieces for loose bolts.

Best regards,
Byron

Byron,

Wow, lucky catch! Yes, it is time to get the car up in the air and check all of the bolts. It's amazing what can loosen up, even if you are not driving hard. Check the threads to make sure that the original bolts were not cross threaded and stripped out the threads. Quite possible that they were not fully tightened and just vibrated out over time.

Jim

Yes, there's always something to do. And just prior to the beginning of each driving season I elevate the car to:

a. lubricate every zerk in the suspension and driveline
b. and with a small hammer, tap each bolt and nut.
