Default Engine mounts: Robert Pond alloy block

Hi guys,

Would anybody like to share the mounts they are using with the above block?
As you may know it has 4 x 7/16 tapped holes each side. I bought the flat rectangular 2241 & 2240 3 hole mounts but they don’t fit. Plus they are stepped and the machining is flat.

I know from one respondent that a custom longitudinal bush type arrangement is available, but not sure how that gonna work when I have lift under the bellhousing to slide the TKO in.

Im sure this is a well trodden path would be more than grateful for some real life pix and recommendations.

We currently use 2-bolt mounts, 31-2222 and 31-2223 on our Pond installations. It is stepped also. I didn't do the installation, so we may have had to shim it on that block. On our very early cars, we used the 3-bolt ones that you have, but never had to shim for the original iron FE block. (The stands on the chassis are not the same between the 2-bolt and 3-bolt mounts.)

I used the 31-2222 / 31-2223 mounts for my Pond aluminum FE in an ERA. I did not need to use shims, and have had no issues. I can raise the back of the block when installing or removing the transmission.

Sorry, but I don’t have good pictures.

Thumbs up

I used polyurethane mounts from Craig's Cobras on my Genesis block. Should be fine for the Pond block as well. Here's a link: https://www.craigscobras.com/parts/mounts/index.htm
