In the first picture with Maurice Trintignant, it is clear that Nothing has changed when it comes to traffic. Some A-Hole putting along in the Left Hand Lane will cause traffic headaches for everyone!

Here's one that I remember seeing 'live' on TV, well before I was old enough to do the 1500 mile / 2500km round trip to Bathurst (NSW, Australia).
It really IS a 'walk away' crash!

It's Bill Brown in a Ford Falcon GTHO Phase III :

This is what an article in carsguide said: "Bill walked away (literally) from the accident, and refused to lie on the stretcher for medical attention in the moments after the accident. Bill’s survival has been attributed to the back rest of the seat breaking during the crash meaning that as the car’s roof was being crushed, Bill was actually horizontal and avoided what would have surely been a life ending impact."

Cheers to Bill!
Glen

OK, here's another....this one I also remember seeing live on TV as well. It’s Martin Brundle in the inaugural Melbourne GP (after 11 wonderful years in Adelaide). It’s described somewhere as the worst F1 crash in which the driver survived.

Brundle certainly did survive, “returning to the pit lane to argue his way into his spare car for the restart of the race, which was red-flagged in the wake of his car-destroying aerial acrobatics.” (from SMH)

Here it is on youtube

Anyone got any other spectacular “walk away” crashes?
Cheers,
Glen

Don't know what caused it but the B looks a little deflated at the rear end....

Cheers,
Glen
