4k or so on SPFR 0012 just in the first two months,600 just in the first two days, makes getting the bugs out faster, now has about 6+k. Now all it need is new axels, and another set of Avons.

That's the way that it should be. Tires should be retired because of lack of tread, not age.

Funny, how the rear tires on our cars wear out much faster then the front's I had a uncle that brought a new (65-66?) Fury with a Hemi, 3-speed on the floor . His wife couldn't fathom how they went though 3-pairs of rear's to only one pair on the front As a 12yo I was awe-struck by the way this car threw you back in the seat, with just 7.45-14 tires. Although today's cars are faster than those of the golden age, they will never again have the mystique that a proper 60s muscle car did; raw horsepower in a very basic, big car with crummy tires, brakes and suspension, very little concern for safety but just dripping with American pride.
