so far so good. its been on about 6 months. grime does chase the joints and you do have to have them. I put the stripe under the clear. not sure if this was a good idea or not. If i had put them on top i could have removed them or changed color! sun is not a problem and i am in so cal so rain is not a factor
The car just pops in the sun shine with the gloss wrap.
we did do a test with the matte clear wrap and the look was wild. Dead Flat brushed aluminum. In the end i did not pick that but omg it look way cool. maybe for the daytona

Whether there were or weren't, the thing I find very amusing is how many different color paint jobs one (or a few) of the earliest cars received to give the perception that there were a lot more cars than there really was.

The bare aluminum looks cool but if I had one that way I suspect eventually i would tire of it and paint or wrap it.

Brian: Their website says $99.00 flat fee, no premiums.
I see their method to stop last minute "sniping" is to add 2 min. after each bid in the last minute of the auction.

The method they use is different from the auto auctions but not too different from eBay. The auto auctions (Barrett Jackson, Mecum) you buy the car from the auction house which is a licensed auto dealer in the state in which they are doing business. The seller endorses the title to the auction house and the auction house is the seller of record to the buyer. There is little chance the buyer defaults since the money is collected within a few hours of the hammer falling.
BAT (and eBay) depend on the auction winner being truly motivated. It's almost free to walk away from a eBay auction. BAT makes that tax 5% or 5K. If the buyer gets cold feet his max cost is the 5% number collected by BAT but there is no guarantee that the seller will see the money (or sell the car) since the transaction is between buyer and seller. I don't know if they've had fraud yet, but there certainly is the opportunity for it.

Someone said that painting my Kirkham would make it look like a glass Cobra.
Truth is, I painted it so it would look like a wrapped Kirkham.

Lots of talk on this thread about whether or not to paint an aluminum snake or leave it bare. Of course I will be a little biased, but as much as I love painted cobras, I do prefer bare aluminum, for a couple of reasons.
First being that it is a very signature look. Anybody seeing a polished cobra immediately thinks "Kirkham". It is a very unique look in the cobra world.
Second being how much easier it is to repair in comparison with a painted car. A painted snake, as soon as its dented, scratched, or took a little bump to the nose around town or the track, not only requires repairs but will also require a new paint job. With a bare aluminum snake, the damage is repaired, sanded and polished away till it vanished completely, which is quite a remarkable thing to see. And you wouldn't "necessarily" have to polish the entire car. That scratch that you made with your belt buckle while leaning over the car sands and polishes out with nobody the wiser
