Ford 427 FE 530hp fuel pump

My supplier has supplied an Airtex electric fuel pump E84070N. It puts out 72 GPH which I’m worried is low. Is anybody else successfully using this pump with a similar engine output?

It is free flow, not enough for my liking.

72 GPH free flow, min 4psi, max 5.75 psi.

No good for a decent fuel system feeding a Holley 4 barrel, or Webers, unless on a baby motor.

Thats a 72gph free flow pump.
Exact copy of a Carter P4070. Which I run. Never had an issue with a Carter pump, Holley and Quick Fuel I don't trust after experiencing failures.

The Carter design hasn't changed much at all since WWII.

You should be fine running a SBF with that pump.

Perhaps you should fit a dash mounted fuel pressure gauge with the sender at the carb inlets, and check your fuel pressure at your hp peak?

Your should also consider what size i/d line runs from the pump to the carbs.

And then volume test in car.

You will never use that much fuel at that HP level.per hour even with a very poor BSFC typical of FE engines.
