That first picture on the rear tube was what I was suggesting. I only have one roll bar so it wouldn't look symmetrical like that but I don't think that too bad.

Third Brake Light
1 Attachment(s)
Hi Rad,
I fabricated a 2 color(Red & White) LED component from JDMtoy into my license plate holder. The white functions as a license plate & backup light. The red is my third brake light. This is the only LED on the car. You also need a simple inexpensive logic module so the third brake light doesn't blink when turn signals are used. Those are available at most place that have trailer and RV accessories or on the internet. Only a couple of splices to make. I also incorporated the new strobe module feature that is available on some new vehicles. It strobes the brake light quickly before it remains on steady. Really gets your attention. The strobe module is available at Super Bright LED on line. About $5.00. It is easy to wire. It is 3 wires and 2 splices. Nick Attachment 32846

You can see it here: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...ictureid=18164
I don't have a photo of it lit up, but suffice to say it's quite visible.
This the LED strip I used: https://www.princessauto.com/en/deta...ip/A-p8493074e
I tried a number of different ways to attach the strip, and had no end of frustration finding something that would bond to the material used for the LED strip. What finally worked was clear hot melt glue. It's been there for 4+ years now and still holding.

For those willing to drill holes, take a look at the 3rd brake lights used by Mazda for the MX-5 / Miata. In particular look at 2008 and 2016 generations. The latter appears lower and wider then the former - pick your poison.

Can you PM me a picture of what you did with your WWC I have one and I would like to see this option for safety reasons as well.

Did you drill a hole in the rollbar to run the wire?

I've been dreaming about a third light for a long while now . I am glad the OP
brought this up . I am really considering a good quality high back seat which
would be safer but kills the original look . I have had people run up on me pretty
close just to get a closer look at my car and I usually pull over and let them by .
But at a stop if someone pops you good you seriously injured and even could get
a broken neck or even death .:CRY: .
I got to thinking the old Corvettes and early Thunderbirds have the same
safety problem . ( I can't name all the other two seat sports cars with the
exact same issue.) . Too bad we can't have the James Bond options for
tailgaters . And for too many years now people have their heads buried in
their cell phones and it is more dangerous now than ever and my Cobra is
one car I don't want to get rear ended in ! High back seats seem to be a
wise choice IMO . And we will never be able to fix STUPID drivers .

Indeed. Safety first. I don't think they kill the looks.

Yes, right by the LED strip, then through the roll bar and out the mounting socket.

Somebody's bound to say that will weaken the roll bar. Just tell 'em that the roll bar will still provide you with a real nice upgrade... from a closed-casket to an open-casket funeral.

That was on a West Coast Cobra, and while I didn't put a micrometer on it I swear the tubing on the roll bar wasn't much thicker than exhaust tubing. More decorative than functional, I'm afraid.

I'll let you know how mine is, feels real solid. Mine is also from the early 80's, when stuff was built to last :D

Gee, that's a big hit, sideways into?
Took the rear wheel off as well.
Mechanical failure first, causing an accident?

Supposedly it was a large flock of birds that hit him. And then came back and hit him again.
