my personal bias is against big blocks however: i prefer smaller blocks because i personally prefer higher revving engines that feel "lighter" than how big blocks typically behave.

Generally speaking big blocks cost more than small blocks but the real issue is the body. You wouldn't put a big block in a slabside or FIA and you probably shouldn't put a small block in a 427 S/C.
