Default I designed a new hood

Just pulled this out of a mold. Thoughts? My car is still a work in progress.

I would rather see the cold air intake from the back of the scoop, using the air from the high pressure area at the base of the windshield.

I like..

....and a cowl too... anyone have a picture?

I have thought about using a Buick GS Stage 2 scoop as they are similar in shape but it's taller and wider

I know when you step out of the norm you get a lot of negative feedback , so here goes. The builder in me says good job! The cobra in me says my hood was already bad a$$ don"t screw with it!

Are you going to paint it as a Cobra head?

I'm sure a talented artist could render a good image of a Cobra head on it. Might be very interesting - even if not everyone's 'cup of tea'.

I can't pick it, but it looks like a big pair of nostrils.

Here's some inspiration for the paint job:

And to complement the paint - fangs and snake eye headlights:

Not my cup o' tea for a Cobra but the WCC replica is sort of custom anyway, and if the intention was for it to look like the head and eyes of a snake, you accomplished that - well done.

If there is some type of a reason for the larger hood scoop then yes it looks different but if needed it looks great. However if you are doing this for cool factor than no, hell no.

What looks weird to me is the high bucket seats and the huge roll bar. JMO

Your car, your ideas....Go for it!
Is it good/ bad? I don't know. But it is different & I like different.
If we all had the same things life would be boring.

A plus for the workmanship.

Not sure if I like, however.

Photos don't work for me, not sure why. Would like to see as I need to mod my hood. Always looking for suggestions.

To each it's own, but no, don't like it. Sorry, I know it takes a lot of skill and time. I'd rather copy the snake hood. Why do you need a high clearance hood, blower, turbos etc ?

I can easily see that a talented painter could do an interesting snake head design utilizing the openings on the hood. And if you can get a second hood before going to paint you could always make a more traditional hood. Both would make great wall art when not in use.

Paint the car black (no stripes) and it will be more subtle. Paint the car yellow and it will be considerably more in-your-face. It depends on what you're after. The rest of your car is not exactly period correct so that provides you more latitude to do a lot of things. Just have fun with it.

with all the moronic drivers these days, I think with that hood, you could install a couple M2 .50 BMG guns sticking through the openings, kind of like WW2 fighters !
