Default MileStar StreetSteel Tires

I wonder if these tires are any good....

(Check all the sizes at the bottom of the page):

https://www.milestartires.com/passen...s/streetsteel/

Take note they make them in the 295/50R15 size:

https://www.milestartires.com/tire-s...ze=295%2F50R15

Apparently engineered in America and manufactured in China.... and cheap (I found $122 on one site for the S-rated 295 tire).

Hmmm....

Anybody try them... or want to?

I have no personal experience with these tires, but note there are a handful of online reviews that seem quite good (e.g. 4.8/5 rating). Having said that, it's worth noting these tires may be fine on muscle cars and other vehicles (performance oriented or otherwise), but may not be ideal for Cobras (original, replica, continuation, etc.). Much will depend, of course, on the specific vehicle, curb weight, driving style, etc., but these may be similar to BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. While many are happy with their BFGs, there are many who would never use them on a Cobra as they don't have the same grip as some other tires (e.g. Avon CR6ZZ), particularly on lighter vehicles such as Cobras.

If your car is more for cruising than performance these may suit the purpose - though caution should be exercised in all vehicle dynamics (accelerating, cornering, braking). If your intent is to drive the car in a more spirited manner, then a more suitable tire may be in order. As many will note, those four little rubber patches are all there is between the car and the road - so tires are probably not where you want to skimp.

I agree with cycleguy55, for a little more, you can go with Mickey Thompson ST if you need a 15" tire and they are fairly decent for "spirited" driving.

I agree with Infletcher, Mickey Thompson ST, are a good tire for "Spirited" driving, remember our cars were meant to (Slide) with 15" tires, not stick, HP many have something to do with that Plus it's way more fun Stay away from anything that look's, made, or acts like BFG's. Cheers Tom.
