Default Valve stems?

I need some help with finding valve stems that will fit my Halibrand "style" wheels. I was told that they were probably made by American Racing but I couldn't find and info about that style. Their on a 2004 build Backdraft Racing.
Where the valve stem goes thru is approximately 1/2 to 9/16 inch thick. The tire shop installed rubber stems but their definitely not the correct ones and the only metal stems they had were about 1/4 in. too short. with a little force the rubber stems could be pushed thru or into the tire. I contacted Iconic Parts and they said they use motorcycle stems???? Surely some of you have encountered the same issue as I have....any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ron, Mine is a 2003 with ET pin drives. The valve stem is located in the center web area between spokes (approx 1/2" thick)

I used TR413 stems (standard 30mm) like these.

I also purchased a set of TR600HP (for trucks) as the pull-thru looked better but didn't use them

Default Valve stems

Thanks spdbrake ... the TR413 type stem is what they installed and they seem to be holding. The stems they pulled out were something like that however, they pulled them out and chunked them before I got a look at them. I'd really like to go with an all metal stem. I'm affraid that if some soapy water gets down into the valve stem hole they might have a tendency to slide out. Probably not but I'd feel better knowing that the all metal won't come out. Thanks for your input, Ron

Ron, the stems won't slide out as the internal pressure keeps them seated.

That's why they chuck em out, they are meant to be one use only, and not worth the risk versus the effort to replace one.

I have only seen once where a customer pushed a valve stem with a tyre inflator back into the rim.
Possibly had tyre shine or some other product on the valve stem.
