Default Original AC cobra calipers or not?

Can anyone verify if these are original rear AC cobra calipers or not?

Its a Girling 12/3, which is what was used on the rear of the production Cobra and Cobra 427. Whether that particular caliper was used on a Cobra or not is still in question. Any other numbers on the caliper?

Larry,

That is what I was thinking too, looks like a Girling rear caliper with the parking brake. Dan Case would probably know which ones were used on cobras, as I doubt those were only used on cobras.

It's a left hand caliper. Girling 12/3's used during Cobra and Cobra 427 production changed part numbers. The partial number posted in the photo doesn't match any numbers used by AC Cars during Cobra production. That said though, you have to take into account rebuildings that may have taken place, (mixing and matching halves), originals exchanged for rebuilt ones over the years, etc. These numbers as shown in photos don't match numbers used on any Girling application paperwork I have showing what was used by AC Cars for new production though.

Yes, Maserati and Jensen to name a couple. I’m sure more too.

Early Jaguar XJ6/12 also and the front calipers are the same as well (16/3).
