Default what it is worth

I know this question gets asked a lot, but I must ask it anyways .First let me say it is a California car with complete registration took over a year to get it legal for our lovely state. 2nd I have fixed all the little oil leaks and problems that just seem to come with owning one of these cars regardless of who made it. So lets just say it is well sorted out. It has a 427 stroker motor victor jr heads, scorpion roller rockers and all forged internals with H-beam connecting rods and quickfuel carb. TKO 600 transmission. It also has a carbon fiber dash with the airplane gauges.Real knock-offs .8.5 k miles. built in 2013 by Backdraft My thoughts should be around 78k for a car you can just get in and drive turn key.

Its worth saying that these cars are worth the sum of their parts and the replication accuracy, that said your best bet is to look at comps:

Ebay
Hemmings

Average $ and then compare condition. That will answer the question.

Well the last Backdraft that sold on Bring A Trailer went for $46,250. It had a Roush 402R with 1400 miles.

Here is another that did not sell, but was bid up to $68,000. It had a Roush 427R with 85 miles.

Here is another that sold for $58,000. It had a Roush 342R with 502 miles.

I am picking up a repeating pattern of minimal miles driven on these cars. First 1400 miles, then 85 miles, and finally 502 miles. It would appear these were either people who thought they could make money building and selling a replica or they discovered they bought and built something completely out of character with what they expected.

Depending on which scenario fits, it might give a potential buyer leverage in the purchase process.

So 68k for a show car would be fair? and 78k would be great and 60k would be low? keep in mind this is a California car.prices for things like houses, cars and women just seem to cost more out here.

Put it up on Cobra Country and see where it goes. Then try Bring A Trailer with a reserve.

Backdraft's are historically not at the top of the price tiers.

Interior not being "classic" will bring price down.

If you look at the comments on BAT for the car with 85 miles that did not sell, it seems it was being sold by a Backdraft dealer (maybe a demo car?). The seller/dealer claims that the car was eventually sold for $85,000.

But if you don't like the color it now apparently costs $50k to get a repaint.

its worth what ever your comfortable spending, if the buy doesn't accept your offer then it wasn't meant to be.
