The one time my car failed on the road no tool kit would have helped. It died on I25 right smack in the middle of Denver. I suspected fuel pump. All the fuses were OK. I jiggled the fuel pump switch and it would start and run for a few seconds. Fuel pressure would be OK then drop. I watched the pressure as I jiggled the switch. Boom, came back. Held switch up a little and ran OK. Jammed a toothpick to hold it off dead spot and got home. Dang Lucas switches.
Or keep some toothpicks in your tool kit.
