I seem to remember back then he was also trying to find time for bass fishing. Interesting guy.

Ron is still lurking, but has his hands full elsewhere.
Hank D. I see on facebook, having sold his wild FFR track car to another Club Cranky member and fellow clubcobra alumni, Terry.

My experiences with these people (and more) was up close and in person while I still lived in the northeast. Mostly at their homes, various tracks we attended, or the bar after the track, or a bonfire after the track and the bar, occasionally at a local or national show of some kind. All are/were fantatic folks to hang around with and I greatly miss each and every one of them.

Ehhh, it's getting like the emails that come to me now time to time from my old college fraternity alumni group. They all start out now with "I regret to inform you that brother blahblahblah has passed away. His online obituary can be accessed at the following link...."

Those were some interesting times, lol! Moderating was damn near a full-time occupation for Jamo and Computerworks!

Sad but true. I've amended my will to include a notification to Club Cobra in the unfortunate event of my passing.

I'm part owner of one tract of land that 5 or 6 relatives have been fighting over for the last two decades. I'll be happy to bequeath that to you when I "transition" lol!

It sure was different back then. The biggest change I see is it was much busier on here back in the day. I'm not sure why that is, but it was noticably busier. I just looked and at the bottom of the home page it says the most ever on line here at one time was 3,146 on the morning of Dec. 23, 2011. Right now there are only 284 on line here as I type this. There's definitely less traffic on this site than in years past. Maybe sites like Facebook have taken a toll? I wouldn't know since I don't do any social media at all. I sure hope it's not a indicator that our Cobra hobby or our automotive hobby in general is waning.
Some names brought up here bring back some memories. I didn't know any of these guys but I sure remember them being very active on here. "Turk" was on all the time, now he seems to be gone for quite a while. I know that he and some others were in a bit of a clique, they had a name for themselves. I don't recall what the name was but they sort of had their own little group. Computerworks was another; he was very active but is long gone as well. I actually met him once, he had a storefront business at the time on Long Island when I lived there. I happened to be in that town one day and just walked into say hello. He was a very nice cordial guy and we chatted for quite a while. I remember Excalibur, Trularin, Hey Little Cobra, Capt. Eddie, 392 Cobra, WTM442, Rick Parker, Rick Lake and so, so many others. They were good times. Even Brent Mills (does he still own this site?) doesn't post much if at all on here anymore.

Yes, Doug, those were the days... long gone, it seems. Like you, I avoid social media like the plague! Perhaps that has taken a toll. Perhaps the young bucks are not coming up lovin' the cars like we all do...

We still see (Terry, FFR racer) @ the Sovern races in the PNW, pre-Covid. I spoke with him (Phone) this last fall about the PNW Club Cobra stickers, he said how many do you want? We had been hoarding them, as we thought they were long gone, he told me to take them over, since he's not too active with the site anymore, but still racing his Cobra, lost the "Good Race Motor" last time out. He said as an ex-racer you know how that go's!!! @Buzz, you still in BC ? This next summer we have talked about meeting some club member @ the Border, you could ride down with one of them, so we could finally meet face-to-face. TommyRot.

Hi Tommy - due to unexpected circumstances (mostly good) I'm back here in the Caribbean for another month or so. I will be in Canada til the end of June when I have to return here to tie up some business. Once I'm actually settled, I will absolutely like to meet up with you and some of the Cobra guys. In the meantime, all the best and take good care of you and yours.

Speaking of 'where are they now', what happened to the Jokes thread that dominated activity in the Lounge?
It's totally gone!
