Reproduction Lucas PL700 7" round Headlamp?
Have any of you tied these?

I have been thinking about trying them. I like the Tri-Bar look but was wondering about the quality.

@raybones, I've had two pairs and ordered a couple more pairs for friends @ Classic garage, they are well worth the $100 price (Per pair). Much brighter than the org. blubs (Halogen), quartz halogen is a white light, to just a halogen (blub) which is more yellow to it (Old School). I'd order the (55-100Watt blubs) I called them 2-months ago, I see they're still waiting for their shipment. I was lucky enough to find a true (Real) pair of PL-700 from one of our club members, Thanks Greg (my427cobra) Hope this helps, Cheers Tom.

The LHD are backordered as well there too. The site where I got mine a couple years ago are out too. Seems to be the norm nowadays.

I have had mine for 2-3 years. I would say the quality is excellent. I replaced some Hella european headlights and I would say the beam pattern is not as crisp as the Hella's but still very good.
Hard to argue with the classic Lucas tri-bar look...
(I have a significantly better picture of the lens detail but can't get it to load)

Strictly speaking, US cars came with Lucas SZA20 headlamps. I have always loved this photo of a 289 with plain headlights, it's my screen saver again.

Quality can be hit or miss. The first set I ordered had crappy enamel in the logo. Was on the borders.. not cleaned up well. I got mine off ebay and the seller swapped them for a new set. Second set came with a logo badge tilted. Luckily they are held in by a screw, and I was able to get in there to adjust it. Badges still aren't great, but nice enough. They are all knock offs, and look nice from a few feet away...
