Shadow
I would say definitely not an ERA |
Not even close. Peter wouldn't let anything like that leave the shop, except for in the dumpster.
|
That car hurts my eyes.
|
Not an ERA, not a Contemporary, not a Superformance, not a Factory Five, not a Unique, not a Shelby, well you get the idea

Maybe Arntz/Butler or maybe a Bennett??? Look how far back the engine is and how high the steering column comes out of the dash and the door hinges?
|
Well it does look terrible, but if I was 16 again and someone gave that to me I would think I was in heaven.
|
This going to be really hard to un-see.
Are those velour seats??? |
Hmmm... (stroking beard)
Definitely not an ERA. Closer in in appearance to an early Contemporary actually, with the following cues:
* Very pronounced SC-style rear fender lip. * Rounded front fender flares * Upright radiator * Reasonably accurate body shape * Torsion bar front suspension (?) hard to tell - can't see a tubular X-member. *BUTT* Its missing the +/- 1.5" vertical lip around the engine compartment opening and it has a funky transmission tunnel. Also external trunk hinges (although those could be added by a lazy builder). So it is NOT a Contemporary either. Looks like there's been some fiberglass cutting/hacking in the lower front inner fender area aft of the radiator and the hood latch catches look like a home made hack. Rear lights came from something or the other ... and I absolutely refuse to mention mention the PVC looking roll bar  Its also not a NAF, Arntz/Butler, FFR, Shell Valley, Hurricane or any of the others mentioned in previous posts above. I would need more pics to narrow it down further, but we at least can be sure its not an ERA. |

That is funny, he might as well go with a CSX car...

I like the Hood Scoop ....We can all use a little xtra air in the Motor

large enough for Han Solo to fly the Millenium Falcon through. |
I have an ERA so it took about 1 second (maybe a bit less) to see it's not an ERA.
|
Scoop looks like an Amazon box
|
What does the VIN tag say?
|
A What!!!!
So I'm really diggin the semi truck/car trailer taillights  Shadow: Since he thinks it's an ERA What's the "Buy it Now" price?? What the saying "A fool and his money are soon parted", Hummmm.....

Can a Car "Identify" as something else?
Maybe it wants to be an ERA....Who are we to Judge Her? or Him? |
No idea what it is. Dig in and see what you learn from the car and seller. Looks like the seller isn’t looking for a lot of money for the car. What matters is what you like. As many others have noted these are not investments. Consider what’s important to you. I’m personally on my 4th and likely last replica. First 3 had significant budgets constraints with compromises while the current is essentially what I wanted and could finally own. You can change lots including seats, roll bars, wheels etc. Enjoy the education and search, talk to other owners. Most are happy to show you their cars and share their knowledge. Hope you figure this one out. If it’s not right keep looking. There was a Factory 5 for sale on this site in the same price range that might work for you and another on FB market place. Don’t know the cars but they’re around with others.
