Another basic question about transporting the car in trailer. What is best/safest way to secure car while towing?

If it's a Suburban with 5.3L it will struggle pulling a loaded 20x8.5
enclosed trailer on extended warm weather travel that's not
flatland. Transmission cooler is highly recommended as well.
You'll also need a trailer brake controller. I'm guessing your
Suburban is already equipped with the OEM max tow package
so you're GTG with what's mentioned above.

Here's a starter list to set your checkbook on fire............

A weight distribution hitch with sway control if going
the 18-20 foot enclosed route (+5000 lbs loaded).
Something like this:

A 2-5/16" ball hitch that will take a 1-7/8" thin wall socket and
torque wrench capable of +300 lb.-ft. to install. Look here:

An adjustable shank.

Read up and understand "Tongue Weight". Look here:

Rear view mirror extenders (or camera setup) to see

Axle straps front and rear to hold your car in place.
If your Unique is like mine, there's (2) frame mounted
tiedowns in the front for securing straps to trailer floor D-rings.
The rear has a single frame mounted center tiedown. I
suggest not using that and secure with straps around the
axle each side. If there's aggressive or evasive moves
while hauling, the rear can shift and slide inside
the trailer if only utilizing the center hold down fixture.

Wow, I'm impressed and very grateful for the invaluable information. I know that transporting these cars can't be an after thought, so I appreciate the education, and will do some more digging to make the right choices. Thanks to you guys I now know where to start.

Agreed on using axle straps around the rear control arms.
Also, cross the rear straps to keep the car from shifting side to side.
And keep the straps long enough to be near horizontal. If too vertical, the car moving on it's suspension can cause the straps to loosen and possibly disconnect.
