Default What to look for in a professional detailer

Planning to have the Cobra professionally detailed. Any suggestions on what to look for or ask before committing to a shop? There are several reputable shops in my area (greater Hartford, CT). Seems it’s not quite the same as detailing a daily driver or modern high end ride.

I had both of my cars done by a branch of a detail company that I think is supposed to be in almost eve state and they did a great job. I had them ceramic coated and that was 5 years ago and it still looks like new. The only address I have that I can find is www.drdetail.info, but I think you can Google for detailers and find their main office.

One route to go for finding a shop would be join the Obsessed Garage facebook group and ask for a shop recommendation for your area. You will likely get a few different recommendations, but it will be from an audience who is very detail oriented. Expect to be in the ~$700-1200 range for a full detail including paint correction, engine, and interior.

With regards to it being different to detailing any other car, not true. There's nothing about a Cobra that would set it apart from other cars that a good detailer has seen. There's different types and strengths of clearcoat, single stage paint, different types of leather, raw cast aluminum, polished, etc. In the end, materials and finish are what they are and the important thing is having someone experienced to know what will work best for each.

Thanks so much for the suggestion on OGF and thoughts regarding it not being different detailing. Hadn’t thought about it the way you outline it above. I’m sure I’ll be able to find the right shop easily.
