How about providing more details about your ignition system? You know, details that may actually help others help you to diagnose and fix the problem.

Details that will help:

distributor make and model,
points vs electronic,
ignition box or not,
coil type (oil-filled vs epoxy) and
coil mounting location and position (horizontal vs vertical).
