So this "Don't put a Chevy in a Cobra is just a load of BS!!!

To recap:
1. Shelby never put a Chevy in a Cobra. (And that really should be the end of it.....)
2. So there's not any part of you, no part at all, that thinks that just perhaps.....just maybe.....that you got good money for your car, because it's a Contemporary AND because it had a rare block with expensive top end parts on it? There's not one brain cell in your head that's kinda leaning that way? Do you think that maybe the fact that they took it all apart after they bought it that gives you a clue into all of this? Hmmm? Just maybe?
3. As for AC putting a Chevy in an Ace, good for them. Now, if you wanted to do a replica of a 1955 AC Ace with a 215ci all-aluminum Chevy engine, then you'd probably have something.
Still has nothing to do with a Cobra. (See point #1)
BTW, for those of you getting your feathers all ruffled up at my posts, I'm just poking fun. I honestly don't care what you put in your cars and just like seeing all the Chevy guys get all flustered.

I'm Sorry For All The Hate And Bad Feelings I Caused...
OP here, I caught the Mecum Cobra on TV while we were busy setting up the Xmas tree - the TV was basically background noise as we weren't paying too much attention to it, added the Mecum link so all could see and that there is a way to get part of the Cobra mystique on the cheap (<$20k). In hindsight, I should have titled it "A Good Deal On A Starter Cobra" and this thread would have probably died after about three more posts after my initial post. Being new to this group, I didn't realize how easy it is to get a rise from some members, I'll try not to let it happen again in the future.
Whatever engine you want to put in your Cobra or like is your choice, as Sly Stone sang "Different Strokes For Different Folks" and who is in a position to be the supreme judge what is "best"? If it makes you happy, that's all that matters. Tastes change with time, I'm happy with my SBF in my 427 S/C for now, my tastes may change for my next one to a BBF.

Mike,
Don't worry. People bait each other all the time here, especially if they get bored. The bast majority of it is light hearted. There are some pretty thick skins here. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, unless of course you were thinking of putting a prius engine in your cobra...

Jim,
OOOHHHHH! A hybrid Cobra, that's probably a first, I'd be lucky to get $20k on Mecum for it .
Yah, if people get excited, perturbed, etc. about my original post, as they say in our house, it sounds like a personal problem to me, nothing I should do about it (except chuckle behind their back )
