Default Early 289 dash layout

I searched quite a bIt and can't find what I want to see.
I know there is a difference defore and after csx2200.
There is the foot switch and dash switch for the high beam
And also the FORD switches.
I rarely see the toggle switch for everything. Even the sideway toggle directionnal indicator.
Lets show me all the variants.

Cobra American market street car instrument panels:

• CSX2001-CSX2069 cars with English wiring and instruments and Smiths mechanical tachometer that did not get converted to a Ford tachometer by someone at some time.
• CSX2070-CSX2200 cars which were converted to a Ford Rotunda® electric tachometers but otherwise stayed English in instruments and controls except for the German turn and horn switch introduced at CSX2126.
• CSX2201-CSX2589 cars with American wiring, instruments, and most controls.

Which version are you seeking? There are lots of pictures on the Internet but searches do better, usually, if you hunt a specific car and not just a detail.

Example: search “CSX2034 for sale” Why CSX2034? The car is widely known to be a very nice intact "early" car. I would image that many people might suggest it as a better that typical holotype for early features.

One of the results was:

4V carburetors with a manual choke was a “late” Cobra feature.

Ford Motor Company converted to manual choke carburetors in late May 1964 in preparation for installing five bolt HP289 engines with manual chokes planned for a June 8, 1964 introduction in late 1964 Fairlanes and early 1965 Mustangs. The earliest known Mustang with manual choke as assembled a few days later.

Cobras got included in the conversion. If a new Cobra received an engine made after the change Ford made, it required a manual choke control.

The earliest installations into Cobras included a Ford cable and knob assembly to the right of the instruments and controls. At some point the knob installation position moved to the left side of the steering column. Chassis number did not mean anything but when the car was completed did.

Manual chokes were used in Cobras with manual transmissions (C4OF-9510-AL carburetor) and automatic transmissions (C4OF-9510-AT carburetor) as well as the two (2) street cars (CSX2553, CSX2555) and one (1) Stage I Competition car (CSX2497) using 1965 MUSTANG GT350 induction systems during the year 1965 near the end of Cobra production.

This picture of CSX 2044 shows an incorrect ignition light. Should be a red Lucas WL3.
The one on this car is for later 289's, after CSX 2200.

Speaking of CSX2000s dash! Here is a then and now shot of the Mercedes speedometer. Any one notice something similar in the two photos?

You win the Quippy doll! I noticed that when it went up for sale. I wondered how they adapted it to the Ford tranny, they didn't! Cheers, Dennis
