Default Superformance CSX10031 onward

Hi Hope you all can help, i am very new here, I am from the UK, all my life i have loved Cobras, then back in Sept 2023, i have heard Superformance are bringing out with Shelby a Cobra CSX10000, starting with the first 30 to be Superformance specials, and then starting CSX10031, selling in the UK, under Shelby License and with a CSX number, could someone tell me what is the difference between the CSX10000 and CSX6000, 8000 models, how are they different with the licensing, and main question, would these cars being a CSX10031+ hold there value, I know a 6 million Dollar question

From what I understand. Subject to correction by others with more knowledge.

CSX 10000 - first 30 cars are 30th anniversary Superformance cars. These have the distinctive fairing behind the drivers head like Ted Taormina’s 200mph “Italian Job” as well as 30th anniversary markings.

The cars are based on the SPF Mark 3. Fiberglass with square tube frame. SPF 427 body.

So the CSX 10000’s are different than the CSX 4000/6000 in both chassis and body which can also be in aluminum besides fiberglass. Basically the CSX 4000/6000 cars attempt to adhere to the original CSX 3000’s.

The CSX 10000’s are a modern departure from the originals purported to appeal to the non purist and supposedly younger demographic.

The CSX 8000 has a leafspring suspension and round tube chassis like the CSX 2000’s. 289 type body (I don’t subscribe to the use of slab side). So no correlation with the CSX 10000’s.

The assignment of a CSX 10000 number to this new series of cars that are not formally Shelby’s but instead carry the Superformance brand does raise the question as to what the CSX number really represents. My prior supposition was that the CSX designated a fully licensed Shelby “continuation “ car that adhered in major aspects to the original CSX 2000/3000 series cars. But, the CSX 10000 cars don’t really fit that description.

Adding the new CSX series does open up a new revenue stream for Shelby Licensing, at a higher fee than for an SPF.

I also heard that the CSX 10000 cars were born out of a request from the UK SPF dealer that needed CSX numbers for some regulatory reason, perhaps allowing these new CSX cars more latitude in licensing for the street.

As far as holding value compared to the other CSX cars, I have no real idea. They seem to be limiting the production numbers so rarity may come into play. But, heretofore my impression is that the market values originality over nicely turned out “modernized” variants. The more original continuation cars also start at a higher price point that carries forward into the secondary market.
