Can someone identify this body?
Hello, this is my Dads account (Rustyrims), he recently passed and I am trying to identify and sell his fiberglass Cobra body. He bought it about 3-4 years ago in Michigan(?). Do you know who made it? Would it be considered an FIA style or Slabside style or a mix of both? After he bought this, he decided to build a factory five, so he did get to enjoy a Cobra

Your Dad has Factory Five listed under the ClubCobra account info, I'd look over at Factory Five site for matches/ info. Maybe he had an account on a Factory Five forum?
Good Luck
Mike

2 piece vs. 1 piece main body question
Slight thread hijacking: I have never looked into buying a shell and building a Cobra, are most other kits two piece main bodies or a single piece? Seems like a single piece would be better/ stronger/ easier to attach to a frame/ ???, or is my engineering mind making some incorrect assumption(s)?

Vague description suckers people in to buying the body thinking that the rest is easy. The uneducated buyer then realizes that the body is not engineered to fit any specific chassis. The buyer then realizes he or she is in over their head, and not all Cobra replicas or chassis are the same. Hence, a sucker born every minute.

Just wow
Point made about generic Cobra bodies for sale, but referring to the recently deceased as a sucker in response to the bereaved is on another ******* level.
Condolences to the OP on the loss of Rustyrims and hopefully he had some plan in place for fitting the body to an existing chassis. Maybe try contacting the manufacturer to see if there were any fitment options built into the body when it was ordered. If there is a pathway to completing a build without having to scratch-build a custom frame, that would definitely help your chances of getting it sold. Good luck.

Not to fund the Tiger restoration, but to give me more indoor space for the Tiger and the "7". I'm thinking it might be better for me to sell my Trailex trailer, which takes up almost enough indoor space for two small cars, and hasn't been used in almost two years. To be honest, I've pulled the FIA from my places on the web, left it here and two others, but have already turned down offers as I'm not 100% certain I actually want to sell it.

I totally understand, right now people are trying to slim down there inventory with Projects and selling older stuff.
I think if you clean the ERA up a bit and put it on BAT it might bring in mid to high 60's.
Whites a tough color....People tend to gravitate towards the British Greens and Blues/Black/Reds when it comes to the 289s
Keep us posted if you still move forward with the Sunbeam build if you cant sell the ERA
Best of Luck

Working on it, heck, almost done mechanically, tight space, but I'll make it work.
