talkcobra.com

Reasons:

1. Recently upgraded to new software, so very stable and responsive.
2. Steady and growing migration of users from this forum to talkcobra.com because of technical problems on this site.
3. Unique atmosphere - no condescending or negative responses to questions or comments (and none would be tolerated), so friendly environment.

If I may add a little to Kevins2 comments, he has done a tremendous job with Talk Cobra, all the updates, and just keeping up with the site. He & I have become great friends (Phone & Emails).
Club Cobra will always be my first home (The gentlemen here helped me finish my first Cobra, try finding NOS parts for a 1991 Classic Roadster) Brent (EM-0785) have tried to work with Brent (Mills) but with all his issues, and please cut him some slack (If you all must know it has been Death's in the family), we still hope to have a sit-down about saving our beloved Club Cobra.
If we can just save the history here, I would be happy, in the meantime, I'm doing what I can, Cheers & Happy to have "Talk Cobra" to get my "fix" while Club Cobra is down, Give me a Call Kevin, TommyRot.

Tom,

Thanks for the kind words. I just handle incoming members, there are other admins that do the heavy lifting on the technical side. I got a lot of valuable information from this site and the members here when I built my car 12 years ago, so I also want to see it survive and come back to life, so to speak. I don't see the two sites as competitive at all - different vibes in each. The information in this site's database is invaluable and I'd really hate to see it lost to us.

I tried to register with Talk Cobra yesterday but each time I completed the proforma and hit the register button I got taken to an empty registration form. there was no error message shown so i guess I had completed the form correctly.

Anybody else experience similar problems or is it just me?

I'm the one who processes incoming applications, and I don't see any sign of you. Have never heard of this issue. Try again and, if it doesn't work for you, PM me over here and I'll look into it and get you on the right track.

Snake2998,

That was fast. I see you in the queue now showing you registered 6 minutes ago. Watch your email for next steps...

Kevin,

I can't find any trace of where he tried to register in the server logs. And we have had no errors then last week.

Thanks guys for your suggestion of Talk Cobra. As has been mentioned there is a lot of information on this site that potentially could be lost. We had a similar parallel here in the U.K. with CobraClub.com. Owned and run by one individual who was computer and website literate happy to take any advertising revenue. Slowly lost interest over time but refused to sell the site to the U.K. Owners Club or wanted too much. Didn’t invest in the up to date operating systems then the inevitable happened the site was hacked and is still down years later. All that valuable information lost. Such a waste! I’m not casting any aspersions on the owner of this website though. I don’t know enough about it. Here people seem to be using social media as an alternative but it’s no match and I don’t do FB.

Ron, he tried again and it went right through so we’re all set.

Thanks,

Kevin

And you banned me, so it is much better now.
