You know the simple thing for the chichen farmer to do is to enjoy the fruits of his past efforts and quit trying to kill everyone elses fun. I wish he could see what he has done and be a part of it.

because I want to think the best of him, like I do with most people. He's an old man now, he says things that arent nice sometimes, like lots of old people do. But there was a time when he orchestrated great things. He is not the first old person around to "tarnish" his image late in life. I will look at his whole record, not this moment in time. I choose to remember the good. And well,,,,,,,,maybe I believe in Santa Claus to. My son does not know about the controversy surrounding Shelby. In his eyes, like mine when I was younger, he thinks Shelby is a giant among men, perhaps he is right! Some day my son will know about all this, I won't hasten that day before it's time. Ernie |

The problem is if Shelby continues running his mouth, there may not be a Cobra for your son or anyone. He is upset because the Series 1 has to meet federal emissions and safety regulations, so he is going to every magazine that will listen and tell them that "all" Cobra kit/Replica builders are using a loophole in the system. That is starting BIG trouble for every Cobra manufacturer out there, including his. He may just not care, because the "new" Cobra Ford is going to build will have to meet all federal and safety regulations. It sure sounds like he is saying that it won't matter soon, because Ford will make sure when there Cobra is built it has the Goverment backing and no other manufacturer will. It will be the FINAL (and only) SHELBY COBRA, in his eyes. |

Why this current flurry of CS bashing. The litigation is nearly resolved. SPF and FFR and the rest of the replica manufacturers can keep making there replicas you all can keep buying your replicas. Wheres the continued problem????
Aside from the fact you don't like CS business decisions he has done many good things too. Many of you should be careful not to make allegations and defamatory remarks against the man. I am shocked at the smears directed at CS on this site which are vicious and uncalled for. Ok. You didn't like the litigation. Its nearly over. Let it go and move on. In my opinion it helps nothing, detracts from what the focus should be on (the cars and having fun) and tarnishes the car and hobby. Sad some still get there jollies from this. |

Ernie-i agree with you for the most part.Two saddest days of my life(family things aside)is when i learned what Shelby is really like and finding out Cosby is a racist.At one point i thought both were good upstanding people. Real 1-what is expressed here is opinion.You can not be held liable for your opinion.And if opinion and truth just happen to be the same-coincidences happen. If you think this is vicous-you've led a sheltered life.And it is deserved(damn-there's my opinion again!) Where's the continued problem?If you think the lawsuits are over,you need to put the cap back on the tube of glue. Just because the SPF suit is over i should just kick back and enjoy life? You might want to contact a Mr. Carroll Shelby and tell him that you would like it to be put to rest, because he is the one that is going out of his way to say nothing but bad things about EVERY other manufacturer of Cobra Replica/Kit Cars on this forum. He has used profanity and accusations against EVERY other Cobra manufacturer out there. I have not picked up a magazine in the last year were Shelby is in it and he didn't take this topic to the forefront. |

Just in case you have not read too many magazines or seen too many "car" shows on your tv,I'll remind you that CS has started this pi$$ing match and he is the one who continues to pour gas on the fire,not the members of this club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone here has a "right" to bash him to their happy heart's content the way I see it, because he goes on national tv and gives interviews in national auto magazines and the secound thing out of his mouth is curse words and lies about the cobra replica industry....... He deserves all the bashing he gets as far as I'm concerned,after all, remember, he started this crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
