VBNASCAR (Bob Waldman) in hospital UPDATED 1/1/03
Details are still sketchy but here is what I have been told to date.
Saturday 12/28/02
Apparently Bob, known here as VBNASCAR, and his new wife Debby, was driving on the 101 when a car allegedly to be traveling around 80 mph came up behind. The car lost control and nailed Bob in the side of his PT Cruiser.
This caused Bob's PT to hit the center cement divider head on. Bob is in the hospital with a crushed hip and Debby has a broken ankle. Bob has been moved to Los Angeles for surgery today (12/31/02) because the local facility is not equipped to handle his injuries.
Debby is getting a cast put on today.
This as much information that I have so far and there might be some errors.
I saw the article in the newspaper but missed the name, now I can't find it. Either in the LA Times, Ventura/Oxnard edition or Ventura County Star.
Bob is one of the Tri-County Cobra (Sandwich Factory) group.
Will update as soon as I get more information.

 Bob ande Debbie,
I hope you are both back in the drivers seat of the cobra real soon. If there is anything I can do for you let me know. We want you back at the Factory flashing those legs again.

Thanks guys for the thoughts. Am back home now, getting jumpy already. Docs say 3- months on crutches. Which probably means that long at least before I am back in the Cobra. Charlie brought it back to the house after helping me finish up some things on it I was doing. Was feeling a litle down, but when I heard that 427 s.o. pull up the drive and then into the garage just below my bedroom, my wife said I look like a little kid again brought a big smile to my face. John, thanks for the blurb on the forum and to all that called to check in, thanks, it was great hearing from you. And spotter Joe, Debbie's chest is doing just fine, still very bruised and broken but she is doing better. That's all for now. Bob W.

 Bob and Debbie
Glad to hear you made it home in one piece. If you need someone to keep your battery charged on the cobra give me a call.
                                 Feel better. Steve |

 Bob,
I'm not surprised at all as to how many people want to help the Cardiac out. I just thought I'd get on the list early.
I've had mine on the road a couple times, just can't keep it there. I just wore out a distributor drive gear. As many others on the forum, not 100% sure why.
             Feel better. Steve |

Regarding the dist. gear. I don't know how well you know charlie at C&S Custom Automotive in ventura, he's the one with the orange roadster, but it might be worth a call to him. Seems to be pretty up on ford stuff. 644-7796.Good Luck
 Bob

Bob, glad to hear you're home and you and Deb are still kicking. I'll add my voice that if there is anything I can do to make your life easier don't hesitate to call. Look forward to seeing you at the next meet as always.

Thanks Clyde, Are we going to see a final paint coat on the 289 at the next meeting? Don't know if anyones noticed, but since the accident I seem to be spending alot more time on the forum. You can only watch T.V for so long. Bob W
