A painting of your Cobra?
Hey everybody, new to this site, I have been hanging out at the ffcobra forum and got tuned into this one. Will ask if anyone is interested in a quality painting of their cobra? The size being considered now is either a 16x20 or a 18x24in. This idea was suggested by one of the members at the other forum. I have a website of art to be viewed www.kenpledger.com While this is not cars, I think this will give you an idea of the quality. The price will be $450, that will include framing, backing and shipping. Excellent photos are a MUST as I will be relying on the owners to take their own pictures...........Ken I have been told that I need samples, so I will be posting these samples as they become available.

Ken,
If you show some examples of cars that you have done, you will probably get some responses. Your work look very good to me, but I would like to see some cars as well.

My wife commissioned an oil painting of my Butler right after I bought it. It's great to have it hanging in the family room. I may want one of the Kirkham--but I may have a drawing done of it given the lack of paint.
You really should post an example to get some interest going though. I suggest you contact Brent 9web master) to see if he minds you posting this here without a banner or something.

Down at the Atlantic City car show/auction this weekend there was a guy painting full size vintage race posters; oil on canvas. He would do the standard Watkins Glen, Monaco, LeMans, etc but said he would do anything you wanted, within reason. These were full poster size and he charged 150.00 each. The work was really nice.
I am sure you could have him do up a nice poster to include your car for the same price.
He is located in PA and I can dig up his number if anyone is interested.

Ken! Absolutely superb stuff!
I am an (occasional) painter myself. Until recently, I thought the age of realism was over ("The Twilight of Painting" by R. H. Ives Gammell said it all, but it was written in1946). I work in acrylic (lazyman's medium) but I make no pretense of otherwise being your peer! Your stuff is tremendous. I have Jamo's car now and MIGHT consider retaining your services! That's after I try and fail to render it myself! Lori (Sp?) Bar. should have been retained (take note Ron) because she's a great painter in her own right (Ronnie, me Bie, now YOU and Buddy will be in the pool-house, right?) Ar-ar-ar. Ken, I also (like you) can see no reason why there isn't a stampede to your door!.
I'd be better off taking plein air lessons from you. I am locked in to a bit of the Luminist School, but that doesn't sell as much as domicile, car, yacht and portrait paintings. I was in Ojai, CA and remained ignorant of the fact that there is a great milllitary art (aircraft mostly) museum there!
Half a dozen CC memebers are threatening to descend upon me in coastal Maine this summer (well, I invited them). Consider yourself invited. I live on the coast and commute frequently to the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland. This would of course be Wyeth country! Lots of NC's and Andrew's stuff. Also, the museum is five miles from a great air-and-auto transportation museum at Owl's Head. This will be a required stop for the Cobraphiles visit and tour.
Keep up the good work! I sincerely hope that you get some commissions! Give me a call sometime: (508) 564-4297. Good luck.

I have a degree in Illustration from Cooper school of Art, Studied oil painting for six years in Ohio under Jack Richard, and Robert Brackman in Connecticut for two years, I am currently taking computer graphics courses at the local college here in Ft.
