I was thinking of using some chain mail from my Medieval Times catalog. If it was good enough for protection from spears and broadswords, a little rock or a bee(?) should be no problem!!

Stainless wire cloth. They have every dia. wire and opening size.

Same as Brent, steel painted black so it's not very visible. Catches lots of bugs that would otherwise be packed in the radiator.

I have half inch animal cage screen mounted about an inch in front of the radiator. Laying on that is nylon window screen. The fine screen collects the bugs, the big screen will catch the rocks. So far so good. That louver look is nice for the braek duct openings though. I'll have to get some.
