California Cobra Fee's to be $1,000.
The California State Assembly will quietly let a plan pass through the state controllers office which if fully implemented will cost Cobra owners $1,000.00 a year in registration fees without requiring a vote of the assembly as required by law.
Under the plan a Cobra valued at $50,000. will now cost $1000.00 a year just to register. An $80,000 Cobra will be $1600.00 Oregon by contrast is $30.00 for two years. www.recallgraydavis.com |
Don't forget the bill to be implimented whenever the Governor deems it necessary that will more than triple the registration for all cars in California. I am sure it will be deemed necessary in a very short time. Example given by Sacramento office. Your registration is now $125 dollars per year. That will increase to $386 per year. That is more than triple but they claim the bills gives them some leeway for the Governor to determine just how much is needed. And now the Federal Govt. wants to increase the gasoline tax a big amount. Why worry about cars. Most won't be able to afford gas or registration anyway, at least in this state. ****, I got gas for my lawnmower this weekend and it cost me $4.85 to fill it up and it isn't even a riding one.
Ron :(  |
This moron governor has got the state into such a financial mess that his cronies are working 24/7 to implement new and creative taxes. IMO, many more taxes across the board are coming. State gas tax next perhaps? Budget shortfall projected to be 30 bln.

DON'T WANT NONE!
[b][color=darkblue]California is always ahead of the rest.....CA is the trend setter.....CA don't want no cars......CA don't want no guns.....CA don't want no conservatives.....CA don't want no dirt riders.....etc.
But wait.....CA do want these people.....TO PAY BIGGGGG!!!! |
Did I mention that my job is recruiting manufacturers to business (and Cobra) friendly northwest Florida?
|
Looks like Zane Grey Davis has figured out a way to fill the hole in the California $32 billion dollar deficit with the $1,000 Cobra tax.

Tommy
Are you saying that DeFuniac Springs, FL will become the next L.A.? :) |
F-ing JOKE...

The situation in Washington was even worse
Every year there was the equivalent of a luxury tax on autos/trucks/motorcycles.
Until a hero stepped up and brought forth an initiative to reduce yearly fees to $32 It passed overwhelmingly, and since then the liberals and big spenders of other stripes have reviled and persecuted Tim Eyman, this anti-tax crusader. They investigated him ruthlessly until they found a SMALL financial impropriety in his funding for his organization, then then really lambasted him. He is still a big time hero here, although the libs of both major parties are working hard to do anything they can to creep up the tab fees again. Same thing happens with firearms "priveledges" everywhere... concealed weapons fees have soared for the 4 year "permit" and they have eliminated the "right" (cannot be a right if they can do away with it, can it?) to carry concealed shotguns and rifles. Statists are the same everywhere. Some wear the donkey outfit, some masquerade as an elephant. Same animal either way. |
Whenever I speak to anyone about them losing their job or an increase in taxes due to the budget problems here in Ca. I tell them "You've been Grayed". There are a lot of teachers here on campus who are very worried about their jobs thanks to our 'Re-elected' Gov. Amazing how this budget problem materialized AFTER the election. Have you noticed as well that the national tax day (April 15th) is almost half a year from/ before the Presidential and Governor elections? Amazing how we forget the amount of money we pay every year when the elections roll around.

Did anyone else hear or read the pathetic speech by Davis a few days ago?
He explained it all to his satisfaction that, State's budget deficits were mostly due to 9/11. I find that as offensive as people trying to make a buck out of 9/11. According to Davis, increased protection of bridges, power plants and California's attempts to fight terrorism overtime for police and Highway Patrol is to blame!! He blamed the Federal Government demanding icreased airport security and other protective measures and leaving the state holding the bag. I didn't realize Federal Government was paying for all these extra measures out of Federal Treasury for other states, and in the case of California not helping us a bit!! What a joke and what a shameless lie, without a single challenge from those listening to that crap. I am sure there are increased costs associated with our current state of affairs. Since they didn't go out and hire 5000 more cops, I can't see how the police departments can be blamed for the current hole we are in. I didn't realize they are paying the cops a lot more because of 9/11. Most probably work the same hours, just that they get assigned different duties. With all the increased terror watch, it is surprising they could come up with 5 officers to serve search warrants on unsuspecting Cobra owners..What a bunch of bastards who run this state. Gas over $3.00, cigarettes over $4.00 a pack, taxes up the yan yan just to spend more money on pet projects. Bike paths, doggie fountains in SF, welfare for illegals, education for non English speaking immigrants, DMV applications in multi languages!! Must be nice to have all those touchy feely nice nice things. If this place was a company, instead of a state, we would have gone out of business a long time ago!! TURK |
Turk - Well said...
|
Turk,
With tobacco tax in Washington state, pack- o- cigs= $5,60 |
Why is it that I can never generate enough energy to give a flying s**t what happens in the land of the fruits and nuts? The overwhelming majority of the puds that live there are getting exactly what they ask for, repeatedly electing every left wing socialist that runs. What most people on both coasts don't realize is that there are legions of people that would rather suffer pins stuck in their eyes than live in either place.
|
Turk, maybe we are well on the way to going out of business. I am giving a long, hard look at relocating again.
|
Bill - Where ya going, cuase San Diego is KILLING me too... :(
|
FL probably. Lived there before.

Kputz, the cities in CA, especially Northern CA overwhelm the electorate. There are many decent, hard-working, law-abiding folks who live here that are not in favor of left-wing policies. Unfortunately they are overwhelmed by the left-wing crazies in the cities. This is usually true in most parts of the country--that is, the liberal element live in the cities and by sheer force of numbers are able to prevail.
After the last state elections, a demographic map was generated that showed almost all the Democrat votes were confined to very small areas--the cities. Since so many people want to live here, we attract more than our fair share of liberals. Me, I'm getting sick of living here. |
Bill - I had been thinking about moving to FLA myself. Spent a bit of time there and liked it. What areas are good and not so good ?

I sent you an e-mail.
