Default Car Show Signs ?

Need ideas on building a car show sign for my cobra. I want it small enough to place in the trunk, wind proof, able to add/change to the discriptions, would like a photo of a cobra snake, checkered flag of some sort.
Any cool ideas guys ?
Thanks,
Kev

Do you want to stand it on a fold-up easel, or set it on the seat, or on the windshield, or where?

There was a company a few years back that made nice laminated "poster cards" with whatever info you provided them. I will try to find them out this weekend, and get back to you Monday. If you want to make your own design, start with a white sheet of paper. Have the outline or a "ghost" cobra of your design in gray on the paper, in front of a waving checkered flag or two. Maybe some designs around the edge. First paragraph, what the car is. Then, the drive train; wheels and tires; paint color and type ('02 Rangoon red with Wimbledon white stripes, Du Pont urethane).; interior (gauges, leather, stereo?!, shifter. Frame specs, and shocks. Try to incorporate the color of your car into the posteraround the edges as well. Also look at the Reno car show at Hot August Nights, or any low rider shows; they usually have lots of info on their cars. Many cars there have the posters of their cars in pictures. Lots of ideas there. I like to see listed all the people who have helped you (positively) on the car, from the salesmen to the mechanic, painters, wife, her jeweller, kids, dog Spot, etc.

Default FlashCards in New Hampshire makes some

I ran across a booth for FlashCards a couple years ago at the Columbus, Ohio, Ford Swap Meet. These guys do a beautiful job, using pictures you provide of your car. They are not inexpensive, but, then again, the really good things seldom are, are they?

Their website is:
FlashCards

I have had signs made for each of my cars. They are a nice size, that will fit in the trunk of your car, and are mounted to a firm board. A display "stand" (a back "leg" for the board to make it stand up) is optional. They are not "wind-proof" or easy to revise, as you had requested, but they are robust, and very impressive looking.

regards,

Jeff

Thumbs up

Man, he's right... those aren't cheap. From the $100's to the $200's. Dang professional-looking though. A very nice touch.

I wonder if I sent a pic of my stuffed snake to "Flash Cards" if they could incorperate it into the sign along with a pic of my cobra ? (I tried to put in a pic of the snake on this page but, can't figure it out ?

It sounds like they can include the pics. I expected to pay a local guy around $100 for a sign, I'll check out Flash cards Monday.

I think one of the members here on Club Cobra named CRANKY has a line on Car Show Signs. You may want to contact him directly. I remember him showing them off to some of our members. They loked really really good.

Default They cost around $200 each

I just ordered a new sign from FlashCards for my '57 Thunderbird - the total was about $214. The other ones I think I got a little cheaper, as I ordered three at once, and ordered at a show, where they offered a discount (around $20 each) for placing an order at the show.

I found my flier for the company that USED to make placards. They no longer do them; however, with all the "desktop publishers" out there, Someone should be able to print one out with all the information. I hava a copy of the flier, with all the specification lines on it. Cant post them here, dont know how. But, if anyone wants it FAXED, that I can do!
