Sent a donation via Pay Pal. Money well spent...not Cobra parts, but still well spent.

Thumbs up I'm In

What a great way to celebrate your birthday, panhandling for dollars I couldn't think of a better donation. If it weren't for all of you guys and your endless effort this forum couldn't exist. I will write check as soon as Carol gives me back the checkbook I just have to convince her it's not for the slicks and wheels.
Seriously, I hope $100 is appropriate. I haven't done this before since I didn't join until last April I think.

John McCheet,

Baby Cheetah said he'd send you something for your years of hard work when you used to be an Admin here - all those consumer watch issues you dealt with, all those phone calls you made on your dime to help members here to try to resolve matters.

Hopefully the work Turk and Ron are doing now will also be remembered.

Neal, definately a point I have been thinking about too. You and John and Ron and Turk have all been a great help to the members. I say if you are one who is wanting to make a monetary gesture as suggested in this thread, make the check payable to whoever you wish; charity, moderator, or....... Your/their work is very much appreciated!

This is certainly not something I count on or expect, but I am grateful for the goodwill and it's hard to express how good the gesture makes me feel. Thank you.

Brent does NOT speak for me on this!

ABSOLUTELY-POSITIVELY nothing is to be sent to me!

I am doing this because I want to. Any money sent to this moderator will be forwarded to I.W.D.O
Iraqi Weapons Development Organization. So, use your head on this one.

Turk,

Good, although I must say I find no humor in the thought of you sending money to Irag for weapons development.

Neal,
If you re-read what was posted it will be very clear that reference wasn't really a joke or a declaraton of intent.

It was a very EMPHATIC way of saying, Regardless of what has been done in the past, regardless of Brent's gesture NONE Of the money is to be slated for this moderator.

If anything comes my way I would send it to an organization that I just made up. If it will make you feel better let me change it C.P.C. Chineese Panda Collectors.

Anyone should be able to read and understand that.

It was a silly way of rejecting Brent's suggestion. That is all. If you like to make more out of it, please contact me personally with your concerns.
I have not sent any money overseas for a while, and don't intend to start now. Sleep well.

Ron,
Thanks for the offer. I know where the "edit" button is.
Too much work. So I'll pass. Feel free to moderate if you like.

...just because you're the elder moderator doesn't mean you can get away with everything.

Hey guys, a learning experience with Pay Pal here.

I have offered the option to use my Pay Pal Account. So far I don't like what I see. Tell me what I am doing wrong if you are more familiar with PayPal.

I received 4 payments totalling $115.00 via PayPal. Three of them looked fine, the fourth prompted me to "Upgrade to Premier Account". It said if I didn't the payment would be returned??

I think it is because person sending the money used their credit card instead of direct debit from their checking accout.

So I replied in the affirmative. When it was all over my $115.00 was reduced to $93.71.

I say, please refrain from sending your donations thru PayPal. It seems to be a very serious cut they take.

I would really appreciate if you stuck with personal checks. That way there would be better accountability and chain of custody. Make them payable to Brent please.
